Rick is an experienced dental surgeon specialising in oral surgery, with over 17 years of clinical experience across hospital, private, and NHS settings. He currently works across multiple practices, providing oral surgery and implant dentistry.
He gained his Honours degree, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, from Cardiff University, Wales College of Medicine, in 2009, before practising in both private and NHS dentistry in Wales. He then travelled and worked throughout Australia, serving as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery in 2011 and providing oral surgery care to deprived communities. On his return to the UK, Rick worked as a general dentist in London and gained Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2012.
He went on to specialise further in implantology, gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Implantology from Warwick Medical School in 2015, followed by a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Implantology) in London in 2017. Also in 2015, he obtained postgraduate qualifications from the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD).
Alongside his clinical work, Rick is actively involved in teaching and training. He is a part-time clinical lecturer in Oral Surgery at Queen Mary’s University, Royal London Dental Hospital and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
He is also Tier 2 accredited in Oral Surgery and is fully certified in Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS).
Outside of clinical practice, Rick enjoys taking part in dental aid missions providing oral surgery care and enjoys the gym and spending time with his young family.
