We can use dentures to help restore a smile that has several missing teeth, bringing full function back to your teeth, and a smile back to your face.

What are dentures?

As one of the most commonly used treatments for replacing teeth, you have probably heard of dentures – or know them as ‘false teeth’ as they are also called. Traditional dentures are removable prosthetic teeth that sit over the gums on an acrylic base. They are available as either ‘full’ or ‘partial’.

What are the differences between full and partial dentures?

As the names suggest, full and partial dentures are used to replace either a full arch of teeth, or just several missing teeth. Both are removable, but while full dentures sit over the gums, partial dentures are attached to the surrounding natural teeth using a clasp that holds them in place.

What is the treatment process like?

Receiving your dentures usually takes place over several months, with the exact duration depending on each patient’s individual health history. We’ll take measurements of your teeth and mouth and use impressions or digital imagery to then send off to a dental laboratory where your dentures will be made.

When your dentures are ready, you’ll return to us at East Village Dental where we’ll fit you for them, checking to make sure the fit, bite, and comfort are all correct.

How should I care for my dentures?

Dentures are worn throughout the day and can pick up food particles, debris, and bacteria. We recommend cleaning your dentures at intervals throughout the day – especially after eating. At night, your dentures should be kept in an antibacterial solution to clean them while you sleep.

Very nice clinic. Facilities look clean and modern, and the operation of three teeth extraction was done in just a couple of minutes. The dentist was really good and obviously very experienced. Just had my second appointment and I cannot recommend this practice enough. From the receptionist (all are kind but Grace especially was so helpful) getting me my initial appointment during a busy period to Dr Leah who did my filling for me.
